About Rowley Police Department

The Rowley Police Department provides around-the-clock public safety services for the Town of Rowley.  We respond to approximately 20,000 calls for service annually, which range from serious crimes and medical emergencies to minor disturbance calls and other safety oriented activities.  The sworn staff is comprised of the Chief of Police, a Captain who serves as the executive officer, three Sergeants, one Detective, and six patrolmen for a total of 12 full-time officers.  We also employ between eight and ten reserve police officers whose function is to fill in for sick and vacation time for full-time officers and to provide extra manpower when required.

Our new communication center, North Shore Regional 911 (also known as North Shore Regional Emergency Communications Center, or NSR911) is located in Middleton, Massachusetts. NSR911 is a dual Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP, or operation that answers and directs 911 calls and requests for emergency assistance), also known as an Emergency Communications Center (ECC). The center is a component of the State 911 Department operating under the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

NSR911 serves as the primary answering point and dispatch center for the police and fire departments of Amesbury, Essex, Middleton, Rowley, Topsfield, Wenham and Manchester-by-the-Sea.
