Rowley Police Investigating after Motor Vehicle Strikes House

ROWLEY — Chief Scott A. Dumas reports that the Rowley Police Department is investigating after a motor vehicle struck a home on Friday.

The Rowley Police and Fire Departments responded to 981 Haverhill St. at 2:07 p.m. for a reported motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, rescuers were met by a doctor and nurse who were driving by and came upon the scene. The driver was in cardiac arrest, and the two had begun CPR. The driver was taken to Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. No further information is available about his condition at this time.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the driver suffered a medical emergency prior to the crash.

The homeowner was home at the time, but no one in the house was injured. The house sustained damage, but the residents will be allowed to re-enter after the town building inspector determined that the house was safe for habitation.

The crash is under investigation by the Rowley Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police.

This is breaking news. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
