Rowley Police To Begin “Good Morning Rowley” Wellness Program

ROWLEY – Interim Police Chief James Mulligan is pleased to announce that the Rowley Police Department will launch Good Morning Rowley, a senior well-being check program, on Monday, April 4.

The initiative, which serves as a voluntary wellness check for senior citizens, is made possible by a collaboration between Community Officer Thomas Hills, Rowley Council of Aging Director Brienne Walsh, and dispatchers of the Rowley Police Department.

Each morning, between 8-10 a.m., participants call the dispatch center to confirm they are OK. If a senior misses a call, dispatch will then work to locate the person. First, a dispatcher will contact the participant by phone at home. If the senior is still not located, an officer is sent to the resident’s home for a face-to-face check-in.

“I look forward to rolling out Good Morning Rowley next week,” Interim Chief Mulligan said. “The program provides an added sense of security for our senior residents and their families, and I hope they will utilize this wonderful resource.”

The Good Morning Rowley program is modeled after two successful “Good Morning” programs in the neighboring towns of Georgetown and Rockport. There is no fee for the program.

For more information or to sign up for Good Morning Rowley, contact Officer Thomas Hills at the Rowley Police Department at 978-948-7644.
